Summary of Character:
A student in UA's Heroic Department, Shouto is a hero in training with a Provisional Hero license. His power or quirk is called Half-Hot, Half-Cold, which is evident in his character design. Despite his flashy look and powers, he's a quiet nuisance character whose arc revolves around the aspect of healing and processing trauma (domestic abuse). He has a complex relationship with his family. Despite being the youngest of four, he grew up as an only child separated from his siblings, which is evident by his lack of social skills. Due to the gaslighting (by his father) he endured as a child, he emotes very little, but still, his goal is to become a reassuring hero who can put others at ease.
In Newcomb, you'll be able to find him in the gym or in some open area practicing his quirk (when he regains it) where he won't cause too much destruction. He's a good student, so he'll pop up at the library. During breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you bet you can find him eating cold soba (do they serve that here?!). Maybe someone can be kind enough to tell him to eat something else. Eventually, when he discovers there are animals around the campus, you might catch him around that area looking very interested in the wildlife.
Oh! He lives at the top of Carroll Hall in room 100 which makes it a trek to find him. As soon as he's given permission to redecorate his dorm, you can bet he will turn it into a traditional Japanese space. Don't ask how he got the tatami mats. Anyone who decides to visit him will be served well-brewed tea because despite being a horror in the kitchen (no one should ever let him cook!) he's great at tea!

Summary of Character:
Eliza's a girl who ran away from home to begin her Pokemon journey against her parents' wishes, and after some adventures ended up being dragged into a murdergame where she got her dream of being a magical girl, realized sometimes it wasn't all it was cracked up to be, adopted several siblings, and decided that murder was sometimes okay. Right after that, she ended up in yet another alternate realm created by a young godling, where she slowly started to learn more about herself, adopted even more family members, and grew into someone who's earned her confidence. For the past two years she's been commuting between home and the Meadous realm, applying what she's learned to her Pokemon journey.
Despite everything she's gone through, Eliza's still a friendly and trusting girl by default. She's willing to try and befriend almost anyone, and quick to give second chances if she sees signs of change in people. However, she can also be vicious when provoked or if she thinks her loved ones are in danger, and is surprisingly good in a fight. Thanks to her CRAU adventures, she's picked up a lot of various abilities, as well as having honed her inborn illusion abilities. I'm really excited to pick her back up after all this time, and I'm definitely interested in playing out both academic stuff and campus sneaking adventures!

Summary of Character:
Penric was a minor noble's youngest son, being married off to a merchant's daughter, when he stopped to help a dying old woman on the road. It turned out that the woman was a sorceress -- which in this world meant 'has a demon sharing her body' -- and the only help Pen could give was to accept her demon when she died. Pen promptly had his marriage called off, made friends with the demon (and gave her an actual name, Desdemona), and begged the god (the Bastard) to let him keep Desdemona when the Temple decided that Des jumping to some random guy was a sign she was dangerous and tried to exorcise her. (It turns out when your saint gets orders from his god that 'no, he can keep this one', the Temple listens.)
Pen was promptly bundled off to seminary, and worked as a court sorcerer for the aunt of the royal family. When his patron died, he was sent to train as a sorcerer-physician, as several of Des's prior riders had been them. Pen learned that while he had the skill for it, he absolutely lacked the temperament to be a physician, and Des pretty much told him to find any other posting before his mental health deteriorated more.
That lead to him accidentally getting involved in politics, meeting his future wife (after he blamed himself for her brother getting blinded, and stayed to heal him), and discovering that he could do what we'd call medical research on how to better use sorcery to treat people. At this point, it's pretty clear their patron god has taken an interest in Penric and Desdemona, which is of the 'may you live in interesting times' thing when that god is the trickster of the pantheon.

She's very much a young woman who marches to her own drum and pretends not to care what others think.
Since the Warehouse is technically staffed by government agents, she needs a degree to have any upward mobility, despite her secondary trait as Caretaker-in-Waiting.

Summary of Character: Luffy is a Pirate Captain who is upbeat, outgoing and friendly to an almost obnoxious degree. His power is that he can stretch any part of himself, with a side of enhanced strength and reflexes for flavor. His life's dream is to become the "Pirate King" by finding the legendary treasure hidden by the last Pirate King. If anyone stands still for long enough anywhere nearby him, they will be hearing about this.
Under no circumstances should Luffy actually have been accepted into a place of higher learning, he is (to put it generously) deeply uninterested in academics. But here he is!! Luffy is a simple creature who likes food, having adventures, and fighting (in that order.) If anyone needs to get pried kicking and screaming out of their shell hit me up, because Luffy would absolutely love to help.
He will probably spend an inordinate amount of time around the culinary building shamelessly volunteering to be a taste tester/human garbage disposal, but he is very clumsy do NOT let this man help out there.

Summary of Character: For a guy with no superpowers, Gansey's been through some stuff. He's died twice, can command spirits, is now part magical forest, and has a quirky relationship with time. It's gonna go great for him at Newcomb.
Gansey is a 21 year old college student who is a year behind people his age because he took a gap year after graduating from a posh all-boys school called Algionby Academy. He grew up very white-boy wealthy with his every move being scrutinized and judged, and that's his go-to default when dealing with people. His parents are politicians, and he's been absorbing that garbage from the cradle. But underneath he's a traumatized kid who never got the therapy he needed after having had his heart stop at age ten after accidentally stepping into a hornet's nest. Dealing with his problems by pushing them down and bootstrapping until he breaks is Gansey modus operandi. After his second death he's better about it, but that doesn't mean he's given up on being the Strong One. On the upside, he's getting over his chronic case of rich white boy induced foot-in-mouth syndrome if not his PTSD.
He's an affable person who is great at being friendly without being friends. With some typical PTSD related trust issues, he tends to find people who he feels have some sort of extraordinariness about them that resonates with him and develop those weirdly deep relationships that tend to characterize adolescence for people with Issues. While he's moderate on the surface, when it comes to the few people he cares about, he's very ride or die (pretty literally).
Gansey loves fast cars, old Welsh kings, historical artifacts, and exploration. Old and broken things in general are his jam, whether the breaks are physical, mental, or otherwise. He wants to know things, and gets very fixated to the point of obsession when something that hooks him presents itself. He's patient, he's kind, and he's generous with money and time, but only for things that intrigue him. First, someone's gotta get past his polished veneer of southern rich-boy high society congeniality with all its political plays and subtlety. That's the world he was raised in, with deep and profound relationships only coming later. After his second death, he's embracing the mantra of 'be terrified if you must, but be happy.' That actually is working out for him. He'll be a student of history and participating in at least the theoretical research sections of the time-related shenanigans of Newcomb, because that's his wheelhouse even if his go-to answer is 'magic'. In his own world, he's accidentally one of the foremost experts on ley lines and their magical phenomena through research and experience even though he wasn't one of the people who could tap into most of that power. (What he can do now is a lot more nebulous, given how he was resurrected the second time.)

Summary of Character:
the Shades of Magic series is set in four connected worlds: Red London, White London, Grey London, and Black London, which all have varying levels of magic. Holland is an Antari magician, a very rare type of magic-user capable of elemental bending and various blood-triggered commands including the ability to travel between worlds, marked by an entirely black left eye. He's from White London, a world that use to be beautiful and peaceful, but its magic became corrupted and started to drain away, making White London faded and turning its people cruel and desperate.
holland had a troubled childhood in the slums, was often made a target because of his magic, but nonetheless grew up strong and confident. In his early twenties, he was captured by a sadistic pair of royals, and forcibly soul-bound because they wanted an Antari pet -- when he wasn't being made to murder their opposition, they delighted in torturing him extensively. Seven years later, they were killed, and Holland was almost killed by one of the protagonists, left for dead. He was then free to make the decision to ally with an entity of pure magic in the hopes of saving his world, only to get possessed and bound by yet another thing when it turns out to be chaotic and evil, though it later frees him. He's King of White London for a while, and helps it to heal. He then spends most of the third book in chains, making repeated attempts to sacrifice himself to save their worlds, and eventually succeeds: sacrificing his magic and therefore his life to seal away the magic entity that had threatened all their worlds.

personality wise, Holland is a deeply broken man who shows little emotion, largely because he doesn't let himself feel much despite the few things he's super passionate about. His demeanor is mostly calm and unruffled, even in the midst of absolute chaos. I think he smiled maybe once in the entire trilogy. He expects everyone to treat him badly, and doesn't protest when they do. That being said, when he does feel strongly about something, he will offer himself up body and soul.
in Newcombe, Holland's going to be struggling with being away from the world he loved and so desperately wanted to save -- the one thing he still cared about -- and will be throwing himself into medical work at the Wellness Center. He can heal people magically, which he will be doing liberally, though it does have some limits in that he can't regenerate lost limbs or revive the dead. It also drains him significantly, but that'll just appeal to his self-sacrificial nature lmao

He is not adverse to a roommate in one of the Townhouses eventually (with proper CR) but he just doesn't sleep very much because he's always reading, learning and experimenting. (nerd) It's convenient for him to live on Campus and he won't require much in the way of living quarters at the moment, especially if he's only going to keep himself pretty busy for the most part.

Summary of Character:
Caleb Widogast is a Wizard with a Haunted One past, and an Emotional Support Familiar by the name of Frumpkin (a cute orange Bengal Cat). Thankfully the citizens of Newcomb are going to be able to bypass his dirt wizard vibes as he's actually doing pretty good and he feels like his life is in a decent trajectory. Yes, he's a bit unsettled that he was yeeted from a very important matter that he and his friends were taking care of (saving the world from a threat, just 4 episodes away from the Final Confrontation).
He's not going to complain too much because this place has a library, and mysteries to uncover. Now, he can be very serious with his approach of things, but he teaches with all the passion of someone of who this was a very particular dream--- protip: it is (in canon, he goes on to become a Professor at his Alma Mater), and getting to know him will reveal a very distinct playful side that comes out only for people he considers to be friends.
My goal for him in this setting is to learn, to uncover the secrets of Newcomb and yes make some friends and allegiances (and maybe if I ritual circle hard enough, some castmates?). Please do not be shy in approaching him because I swear to god I will not be shy in approaching your characters.

A nerdy woman, science fiend, and probably the best person to call to for the answer to a trivia question, Velma is known for her sharp wit and knowledge of just about everything. As it is seen during the series and in the live action movies, Velma’s intellectual talents range from reading ancient Sumerian to solving a high level physics calculation in her head. In addition to her wide range of scientific knowledge, Velma is an exceptional linguist of both dead and living languages. She even helped develop hydro-powered missile defense systems at NASA.
Prior to and after that, Velma solved mysteries with her best friends, starting throughout high school. Known mostly as the brains and the smart one of the group, Velma rarely received the recognition that she deserved. Often the team bro would hijack credit, despite her stitching together the clues and frequently unmasking the criminal herself.
She can be snarky with a dry wit, but remains mostly friendly and curious. Expect her to genuinely enjoy teaching on all sorts of engineering facets, from basics to more focused ones in mechanical and electrical. Her goal is to try and understand as much as possible about this place, as well as teach others practical applications of engineering here, such as design, fabrication, and re-purposing components. That being said, the woman often in too much orange can be found at the Murphy Science Center, the metal shop in the Kavka Fine Arts Center, and the Sayre Humanities Center sitting in on linguistics classes as well as researching in the library. Her day to day and teaching schedules are still shaking out, but she will be living in the Skolem Townhomes, unit number TBD.

Summary of Character: WW2 veteran who fell into some ice and woke up seventy years in the future. He is a super soldier meaning he's fast, strong, and endurant. Often gives inspiring speeches. Really nice, golden retriever vibes. Will try to be helpful. Extremely protective. Truth, justice, yadda yadda.
In Newcomb he will be running laps at idk 5 am, not gonna skip his meals, trying to pitch in and figure out the mystery. I love the idea of him in dark academia clothing so be prepared for lots of visuals. He normally writes in print but due to the nature of the game, he's now writing in cursive.
I want him to have fuzzy memories of his life at home and then they'll slowly come to him. Mostly because I like the idea of him buying into his professor-ness, and I think his stint as Captain America might interfere a lot with that. In his extremely vague AU history that led him to apply to the school, he served in the army once upon a time (not really false I guess!)
He will be roommates with his surly best friend, Bucky Barnes. He will be trying to get Buck to make friends!!

Intended Position: Linguistics Professor. Bucky is going to teach German, Russian and conversational Romanian
Summary of Character: WW2 war veteran that was capture by the evil organisation HYDRA and was experimented on, which included becoming a super soldier like Captain America and being outfitted with a shiny metal arm to replace the one he lost. He was brainwashed into becoming the Winter Soldier, an elite assassin that shape history through murders for the next 70 years. In between assassinations, he was turned into a human popsicle, so he could keep his youthful appearance. Through the power of friendship and getting hit on the head one too many time, Bucky was able to break out of the brainwashing and then became a one-armed goat farmer in a highly technologically advanced African country named Wakanda, only to be pulled into another war, this time against an purple alien that looked more like a dried fig than anything else. But hey, he got a new shiny black and gold arm out of it, and this time around, it’s made of an indestructible metal called vibranium. The dried up genocidal fig was sadly too strong for the superheroes and when they lost, Bucky was turned into dusted for five years (no, really!).
But since the MCU is a property of Disney, the good guys won in the end, and Bucky was undusted. Even better, he was pardoned for all of his crime while he was brainwashed (he had a really good lawyer, okay?) and then got some therapy to help him with the PTSD from, well, everything in his past and then he tried to move on while helping his new bff (the other one got his fairy tale ending, because, again, Disney) become the new Captain America, all the while punching the creepy, crazy guy that got handed the shield by the government. Look, that shield is his safety blanket, okay? But in the end, the better guy got the shield, Bucky got to make amends to the people he wronged as the Winter Soldier and he even got to walk off into the sunset (not even kidding here, the TV show ends with a sunset).
So Bucky comes into Newcomb University with a real chance at a normal life. He’s still struggling with trusting people, so he does appear to be grumpy and surly at first, but once he warms up to people, he can be a snarky, caring kind of guy. Don’t let the staring intimidate you, he means well. Sort of.
He’ll be teaching German, Russian and Romanian, will jog with Steve every morning because what is sleep, right? When he’s not teaching, he can be found reading or grading in coffee shops, until they get too crowded, which will make him move back to his office. He’ll be the frowning guy Steve brings everywhere in hopes that he’ll make some friends.

The hottest of hot messes! An idiot with a heart of gold! A former medium turned sex worker and artist! A human with the energy of a Pomeranian!
Born into a generational family of Spiritualists, Iggy has been able to see and hear ghosts since he was a baby. He is also extremely easy to put into a trance state, and for discarnate beings to possess.
Thanks to being homeschooled, Iggy is a socially awkward weirdo with a love of painting. He grew up without knowing children his own age, surrounded instead by the dead and the grieving, and as a result is a profoundly lonely person. Not that you'd know it - he is unfailingly effervescent and optimistic. He's a ray of sunshine with a genuine love for people. He's also a shameless flirt, so watch out fellas.
Right before he woke up on the train to Newcomb, Iggy was attending the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC, and paying his way by being sexy on the internet. Due to his penchant for partying too hard, he wasn't initially all that shocked to wake up somewhere confusing.
In Newcomb, he'll settle into the routine of a student easily since that's what he did before. He'll be most frequently found at the Kavka Fine Arts Center, but he'll definitely get around campus in general because he wants to meet people. He's likely to do Very Stupid Things, and may need to be saved from his own bad decisions.

Oh Loki, where to begin? He’s the Norse God of Mischief who has been raised by Odin and Frigga along side his brother Thor, God of Thunder as apart of the royal house of Asgard. He’s also a very talented mage with expertise in conjuration and illusion magic, though he has a laundry list of other magical skills. In addition, he’s also skilled in hand to hand combat with a specialization in daggers, which he is very fond of.
Though raised a prince with the promise that he was meant to be a king, Loki never really felt like he belonged. He’s recently found out that he was adopted and he is actually Jotun, a species of frost giant that are the mortal enemies of Asgard. When in contact with anyone or anything from Jotunheim, the glamour making Loki appear Asgardian (or human) dissipates revealing his true form where he has blue skin with raised markings, red eyes and is cold to the touch.
Easily angered and often over-emotional, Loki tends to fall back on pranks and tricks, using his magic and intelligence to simply annoy people who have angered him or out of pure boredom. He often feels like he’s the smartest person in the room and the idiocy of others bothers him to no end.
The real truth of it is though is that it’s all a mask. He pretends to be hard and cruel and uncaring as a desperate play for control by inspiring fear, the only option he thought he had. If he pushes everyone away, makes himself unlikeable, then it was all his doing and not simply because they would actually dislike who he actually is.

Summary of Character: Before there was Batman....there was Alfred.
Before arriving in Newcomb, Alfred was the butler, legal guardian and mentor of a young Bruce Wayne who was slowly on his way to becoming the Dark Knight. Alfred had just seen Bruce off on his world travels to learn more about crime fighting when suddenly he was on the train headed towards Newcomb. Now that he is here though he will make the best of the situation, he can be found teaching combat or etiquette at the school but is also happy to give people private lessons on things like cooking and making a proper cup of tea.
Because Alfred was a butler people might assume he is fussy, prim, and a stick in the mud but that couldn't be further than the truth. Alfred was born in the east end of London and was in his prime during the 1960's, he's always been a gentleman in the ways that matter (ie: respectful, courteous, and well spoken) but that doesn't mean he doesn't remember what it's like to be young and rebellious. He is best described as an old war dog who still has plenty of bite.

Summary of Character:
Where to start with Rodney McKay? He’s a genius jerk who’s a little less of an asshole by his current canon point but still is, pretty much a butthead. He’s rude, acerbic, arrogant, petty, argumentative, stubborn, and has poor social skills, but he’s also the guy that saves the day often in his canon by being pushed to his limit and pulling a last-minute save from some clever idea he’s managed to scrape together through his unending panic. He complains a lot and appears to be cowardly but when there’s no other choice he’s actually quite a brave (though still complaining and probably screaming) boy. He’s very insecure and cares very much ablaut what the people close to him think. He’s also really bad about remembering names and often calls people by the wrong name besides he simply can’t remember it.
He’s a scientist and expert on the Stargate, which is wormhole technology made by the Ancients, a super technological progenitor race. You dial a planet and step through the event horizon inside the portal, and boop, you’re on another planet. The Ancients are all long-gone and their technology is beyond humans so Rodney is very proud of the fact that he’s an expert on so much of their technology (even though he admits much of it is still beyond him). Half his canon is him trying to figure out how to make things work without a manual and fixing broken things, usually with a time limit and threat of impending doom. He eventually joined the Atlantis Expedition which was an expedition to the mythical fabled actual Atlantis, in the Pegasus galaxy. Assuming it was a one-way trip, the expedition went through a gate on earth and emerged in Atlantis, which was underwater. Long story short, this eventually ended up with their team waking up space vampires called the Wraith and getting a huge target placed on them and all the humans in the Pegasus galaxy, and have been dealing with that ever since. At least Atlantis eventually rose above the ocean so they had that going for them. Rodney also gets to join the flagship Gate team AR-1 and explore planets, which also includes a lot of complaining during hiking long distances.
…most of the problems in their canon come from mistakes the expedition, Rodney, and/or his team or members of his team have made. Despite them being protagonists they’re responsible for terrible things happening to the Pegasus galaxy, and have done extremely unethical things but still think they’re the good guys. Despite the often lighthearted nature of Stargate in general, Atlantis can get very dark.
Rodney also has the Ancient Technology Activation “ATA” gene, which allows him to operate certain Ancient technology with his mind. This was due to a gene therapy given to him by Dr. Carson Beckett, in a surprisingly brave move by the typically hypochondriac Rodney, because he didn’t naturally possess the gene and was devastatingly jealous of everyone who could use the technology.
In his free time he likes hanging out with John Sheppard usually playing video games and racing RC cars. He’s also well aware of how incredibly sci-fi his life is, most modern media exists in Stargate so he’s prone to making pop culture references. (Limited circa 2008/9.)

I'm so sorry about Tom in advance.
A mysterious man who manages to also be a bit mysterious to himself, Thomas Zane was a talented auteur who moved to the PNW from Finland. Tom had an art commune in the sleepy town of Bright Falls, and he had big dreams...unfortunately, the lake there held dark power, and certain works of art made near it come true.
He made a film there, Tom the Poet, which overwrote reality, sentencing him to the same fate as the character he portrayed himself to be...and he disappeared into the lake in 1969. Since then, he's been away in a dark dimension called the Dark Place, losing himself for decades and slipping into a life of loneliness, violence, and vice. Waiting for just the right collaboration to come along to set him free.
At least, that's what he'll tell you.
Tom is a menace, flashy and almost constantly drinking or smoking (don't worry, he'll be good on campus, it's coffee...........mostly). He dresses like Van Morrison, hates shoes and shirts, is always looking for the next thing to make art from, and is generally going to be way, way too excited to be among real people again. The cataclysm is a small price to pay! HE DOES COME WITH A BIG OL' WARNING FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE, so please feel free to hit his permissions if there's something you don't want to interact with!
His powers center on film - he can "cut" himself through a room, flickering in and out at high speeds. He can also "edit" facets of reality, moving objects, people (with permission from players of course!), and other small changes. Back where he came from, he was resistant to wounds and death, turning otherwise fatal blows into special effects on a whim...but he's going to find that here, those abilities come with a much higher cost than he's used to.

Summary of Character:
Imagine a guy who's part action hero, part wisecracking pilot, part secret nerd and part reluctant leader – that’s John Sheppard in a nutshell. Picture a guy with a laid-back attitude, a rebellious streak, and hair that always looks like he just rolled out of bed, even in the middle of an alien invasion. That's John.
He's a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, but isn't exactly a by-the-book guy. He'll bend or break the rules if it means doing the right thing - or what he thinks is the right thing and then he screws up half a galaxy shhh what - which often drives his superiors nuts. Because of a special gene that lets him use alien technology, John unexpectedly became part of the Atlantis expedition in the Pegasus Galaxy where he was catapulted into the role of military leader after he had to mercy kill his CO (Everyone on Earth disliked that.). He is fiercely loyal and quickly becomes the guy everyone looks to when things go sideways – which is pretty much all the time.
He's an expert pilot, capable of flying anything from helicopters to alien spacecraft. He's got an uncanny knack for finding trouble (or maybe it finds him), but he's also pretty good at getting out of it. He's a crack shot, quick thinker, and has the kind of luck that's either really good or really bad, depending on the day.
In that wake, he also struggles with bad decisions. So many bad decisions. They're all bad decisions. He's bad at this. Starting with the fact that John is the one who woke up the Wraith, their number one enemy (think space vampires that suck the life out of a person with their hand), every time something goes wrong in Pegasus or on Atlantis, it can often be traced back to him and his team. They screw up so much. But of course it's not their fault because they're the heroes.
John's usually pretty laid back, a bit flippant, charming, good at small talk and easy to get to know so I'm hoping he'll be out there meeting characters left and right very quickly. On a deeper level, his emotional walls are higher and it's hard for him to form connections. Once things become too real he might become awkward, emotionally stunted and helluva awkward because he's a disaster in this field. There's a lot of repression and he carries the weight of decisions that didn't go as planned, especially those that cost lives. He's driven by a massive guilt complex and self-loathing so bonus points if someone manages to get this boy some therapy.
Really looking forward to this game and y'all and throwing him at everybody!!
