Summary of Character:
A nerdy woman, science fiend, and probably the best person to call to for the answer to a trivia question, Velma is known for her sharp wit and knowledge of just about everything. As it is seen during the series and in the live action movies, Velma’s intellectual talents range from reading ancient Sumerian to solving a high level physics calculation in her head. In addition to her wide range of scientific knowledge, Velma is an exceptional linguist of both dead and living languages. She even helped develop hydro-powered missile defense systems at NASA.

Prior to and after that, Velma solved mysteries with her best friends, starting throughout high school. Known mostly as the brains and the smart one of the group, Velma rarely received the recognition that she deserved. Often the team bro would hijack credit, despite her stitching together the clues and frequently unmasking the criminal herself.

She can be snarky with a dry wit, but remains mostly friendly and curious. Expect her to genuinely enjoy teaching on all sorts of engineering facets, from basics to more focused ones in mechanical and electrical. Her goal is to try and understand as much as possible about this place, as well as teach others practical applications of engineering here, such as design, fabrication, and re-purposing components. That being said, the woman often in too much orange can be found at the Murphy Science Center, the metal shop in the Kavka Fine Arts Center, and the Sayre Humanities Center sitting in on linguistics classes as well as researching in the library. Her day to day and teaching schedules are still shaking out, but she will be living in the Skolem Townhomes, unit number TBD.

So hey! Sorry for like sorta doing the whole dice roll thing and catching you off guard in the TDM, that was totally my bad-- but I do want CR with Velma, she's a fellow nerd and also has an investigation bent (on his character sheet, he is Expert in investigation/insight.) so if Velma needs any assistance or wants to collaborate, he'd definitely be down!

Oh no worries at all! I just didn't know if I had to respond in kind and then I just got anxious about it. What I know about D&D is a pile of miscellaneous stuff I've picked up here and there. I'm enjoying their thread so far and would love for more CR between the two of them! Especially if they're both Big Nerds.

I was spoiled then with my engineering college back in the day. We had both typical labs and a fabrication/manufacturing focused shop.

I went to a state school and had to trek all across campus for my lab sciences....and there are a lot of labs in a geology track with the paleontology angle.

But she's going to have to be talked out of supercharging random equipment. The plasma cutter is FINE.

Oh man our marine, earth, and atmospheric sciences buildings were at the top of a hill on the edge of campus. Fun fact, I have a geology degree too because I wanted to be a paleontologist! Then I went back for an engineering degree because of that first economic downturn. I will absolutely nerd out on either subject.

Supercharging sounds real dangerous okay. Maybe... Let's not explode things?

I have no idea how Loki and Velma might mesh at all, but I had to stop in and say how awesome it is to have a Scooby character. Scoob’s been my guy since 1983 and there’s never enough representation.

Aw thank you! I'm excited to have her here for all the things and I've been in the fandom for far too long it feels. Please let us find out what sort of cr they'll have. What canon point is Loki from?

I am very much looking forward to Velma’s nerdy awesomeness! We definitely need to see how they get along. I’m doing something I haven’t done before and taking him from the end of the first Thor movie. I wanted him young, angry, annoying and pre-any redemption arc (which is where I typically play him from). So he’s not all evil Avengers Loki, but he is really mad at his family and prone to being a prankster jerk.
