What with the current crisis, the memory loss Cheris has noticed is largely focused on recent events; she hasn't yet tried to think about specific people, specific battles, lengthy periods alone studying reports or traveling from one starbase to another. She doesn't notice anything amiss with Steve, whose intent concentration on the needs of the moment feels comfortably familiar to her, and whose exceptional strength will do much to compensate for the lack of antigravity floaters or other easily-found rescue devices.
As Steve returns, she wipes ash from her face, swiftly cataloging the new group's obvious injuries and glancing grimly down the broken line of jumbled wreckage. "Oh, there'll be more. I've seen some people doing the same thing we are, but there should be medical flitters here by now. If communications are down, we might be on our own." She digs out some of the remaining first-aid kits, tossing one to Steve. "Did you see any other safety gear in the train? Anywhere there could be fire suppressant?"
